An Ear — and Eye — for Ministry

Making Noise Ministries is lead by Don Blanton who has over 30 years of professional sound, lighting and projection media experience. Don began learning how to run sound equipment at the age of fourteen at his father’s church. He was actively involved in the school theater program which exposed him to set design, lighting and other aspects of live production. He continued to hone his audio skills working with local bands and eventually working professionally in local concert venues, festivals and tours, corporate events, design and installation for schools, churches and clubs.

Running parallel with the media side of Don’s work experience is over thirty years of pastoral ministry. Don has served as a media pastor, youth pastor and lead pastor in several churches in Minnesota, Iowa and Ohio. Media and production have played a large role in each of his ministry positions through designing and installing new sound, lighting or projection systems in each church he has worked in. Training teams to run the media systems has always been a passion of Don's.

Don has lead media ministry teams to Russia, Belarus, Italy and England, before finding a huge need in Tanzania and other African countries TO MORE CLEARLY HEAR THE GOSPEL!

HOW WE SERVE

Ministry Through Sound Education

The idea for Making Noise Ministries was birthed many years ago as a desire to help churches improve their media ministries. That idea took on a new life in February 2019 after being invited to come to Central Bible College in Dodoma, Tanzania to install video projectors in the main auditorium. While there, Don was also asked to work on the sound system and to begin training students that work with the media team.

An invitation to travel to two other churches — one in Morogoro and another in Dar es Salaam — followed. Don was asked to do an assessment of the existing systems and train the media teams in these churches. During this trip, Don met with Pastor Dr. Barnabas Mtokambali, the national leader of a rapidly growing denomination in Tanzania, who shared his vision for the future of his country and the need for quality sound in their churches. He estimated close to 4,000 churches in Tanzania alone need some level of sound reinforcement and trained technicians to operate those systems.

$5 - Cable

It may not seem like much, but as little as $5 allows us to purchase a cable that would otherwise cost a local Tanzanian approximately five weeks salary ($35).

PA Board Donation Ministry Making Noise Ministries

$50 - Microphone

At only $50, you can bring sound amplification to a church that may have thousands of attendees. Imagine the clarity you can provide to ensure the Gospel gets to the ears of seekers!

AV System Training Ministry Making Noise Ministries

$125 - Technician

For the modest sum of $125, you can provide a whole set — microphone, microphone stand and cable — to a church that may struggle to get this amount in tithes in a whole month!

Media System Training Ministry Making Noise Ministries

$1,000 - Musician

This is the Technician level on steroids! At this level, a church can also receive a portable PA system plus speaker stand with a wireless microphone built in. A church of 500 will be able to finally hear its pastor.

Sound System Training Ministry Making Noise Ministries

$1,500 - Cafe

Outfit an entire congregation with enough sound to reach 2,000 worshippers! At this level, we're able to deliver a portable P/A system with two 400-watt speakers, two speaker stands, two microphones + stands, and all requisite cables.

Sound Equipment Donation Ministry Making Noise Ministries

$2,000 - Venue

Our top level of giving will help a congregation of 5,000 — all the same equipment from the Cafe level, but with 600 watts of power. For only $500 more than the Cafe level, you can help a church reach 3,000 more worshippers!
